Notebooks and Nerds ♥
The above picture could not describe my life better if it tried. {okay, so that had a hint of sarcasm; my life could definitely be described better than that. But it's still pretty awesome, no? ;)}
As I was skimming through the above notebook, I came across something that really brought back memories. It was a list of spoof-y Christmas songs that I'd made with my friend GG last year!! Most of them are Nancy Drew-related, such as "Bring the Clues"{my personal fave}, "To Nancy's House We Go", "Nancy, Detective"{to Frosty the Snowman} and "Aunt Trudy's Coming to Town"{even though that's Hardy Boys, but whatevs.}
But there are also a few miscellaneous ones, such as "Ralphie the Red-Lumped Llama", "Jingle Jingle Jingle Jingle Jingle Bells"{so much fun to sing!} and "The 12 Dogs of Christmas".
And let's not forget finding the quote that I love to death, which we made up whilst persuing a Chat conversation under the personas of Nancy Drew and Joe Hardy. :P Tooooo much fun.
Oh man, good times.
I almost typed 'goos times', which made me think of geese.
. . . Anyway, XD
Back to nerds! I personally think that nerds are totally geekom, {*nudges Kate The Sailor*} which, of course, is a super-large compliment!
A very common misconception that a lot of people have of nerds is that they're unsociable, brainy, awkward kids with no clue about anything outside of academics.
THIS IS FALSE.
Nerds have many different sub-categories. To me, nerds are not a stereotype; it's just that other people use them as one. Which sucks. :\
One of the most awesome and inspirational nerds of all time, is Cameron Mitchell. Please check him out, because seriously, folks, he's possibly one of the best people walking the planet right now.
He's a proud, self-proclaimed nerd and is actually part of the reason why I now fully, 100% support nerdness. :) {a couple of years ago I was more into supporting the 'dork' stereotype. . pfft. xD}
He also plays guitar, writes & produces coolio acoustic music, is left-handed{JUST THROWING THAT OUT THERE!} but plays guitar right-handed, dresses in cardigans, skinny jeans and weird shoes, never wanted to be a part of the 'popular scene', is from Texas and is a true, strong-hearted Christian.
He gave up an incredible opportunity for fame, because what he had to do to claim it, tested his moral code to the absolute limit. So he quit, but is still making/recording music for his Youtube channel and plans on doing something more suited to his style in the future.
He's a perfect example of what to do when you're stuck in a position, of having a wonderful opening for something you truly want to do, but God is telling you that you shouldn't. It may seem hard, & it was difficult for him, too, but always follow your heart & what the Lord is placing there. :)
Anyway, whew.
So yeah! Other than celebrating the art of being a nerd, and flipping through old notebooks, and going to rehearsals & classes, I've also been writing A TON lately, so I'll probably post about that next. . or maybe the time after. I don't really know, haha.
Oh yeah, & HOORAY FOR A POSITIVE, HAPPY, LIGHT-HEARTED POST FOR ONCE!! Eh?? :) :)
- Kaitienatorrrr!
{who just realized that this post was actually going to have something to do with where & how nerds get bizarre inspiration for writing, but I totally forgot. Whoops.}
